Work in Hysitron's Production Department together with a team of technicians responsible for manufacturing a complete product line of instrumentation. Responsibilities for this position consist of assembly, calibration, testing and troubleshooting electro-mechanical systems. Specific tasks may include controller chassis assembly, point to point wiring, PCB soldering, and precision mechanical assembly. Test equipment will be utilized to perform detailed calibration and functional testing of manufactured equipment. This position will present opportunities to operate advanced scientific tools including atomic force microscopes and Hysitron?s own scanning probe nanomechanical test systems. Additional responsibility will be tailored to fit the individuals experience and ability. Qualifications: ? Associate?s degree in Electronics Technology or equivalent program ? At least 2 years experience in a precision manufacturing environment is preferred. ? Relevant experience with assembly, calibration and/or troubleshooting of electro-mechanical systems is preferred. ? Ability to follow and understand assembly procedures, circuit schematics and wiring diagrams is required. ? Knowledge of analog and/or digital circuit schematics will be helpful for a successful applicant. ? This position will require proficiency with digital voltmeters, oscilloscopes and other test equipment for calibration, testing and troubleshooting of manufactured instrumentation. ? Must demonstrate an ability to work with a microscope to manipulate and assemble very small electrical and mechanical components which are elements of complicated devices.
