Maximize reliability in order to avoid unscheduled shutdowns resulting in interruption of supply to customers. Monitor tube temperatures (visual inspection and pyrometer readings each shift). Make burner adjustments as needed to keep tubes within specified ranges b. Make formal rounds 2x per shift, make informal rounds at least once every 3 hours c. Responsible for maintaining water chemistry within specified parameters 4. Keeps and maintains all necessary production logs and records. Generates reports as required. 5. Uses professional judgment for operating the facility safely, reliably, and efficiently at all times. a. Accountable for use of SOP's to start and stop major equipment and processes to prevent unnecessary process delays and maintain operational consistency/reliability b. Continuous review and comments on SOP's in order to provide guidance in procedural updates 6. Coordinate with Maintenance Department on work requests, work permits and equipment isolation, follows each permit through completion. 7. Communicate at least once per shift with customers on product and process conditions. Communicate as needed on deviations. a. Communicate to plant supervision b. Document communication in logbook 8. This includes lean manufacturing concept, safety improvement and 5S program.·        Other duties as assigned.  REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: ·        Strong mechanical aptitude.  Must be willing to work swing shifts (days and nights on rotation). ·        Working knowledge of Electricity, hydraulics and pneumatics preferred.·        Knowledge of SPC (statistical process control).·        Must be able to use standard and metric measuring equipment.·        Must possess basic troubleshooting skills. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: ·        High school diploma or equivalent.·        3-5 years experience in a manufacturing environment.·        Blow Molding / Wheel Operation a MUST.   Production Specialist ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: ·        Work safely and promote a safe culture in the plant.·        Conduct and enter necessary quality inspections of product.·        Responsible for autonomous maintenance on assigned equipment.·        Document all downtime and methods used to get the line operational again.·        Must aid in performing the following duties:  color changes, mold changes, screen changes, and preventative maintenance on all line equipment, change filters in the vacuum system.·        Maintain open lines of communication with line workers to foster teamwork and proper understanding of responsibilities.·        Train fellow employees as requested.·        Involve in facility continuous improvement activities.
