Overview: The Computer and Statistical Sciences Center (CSSC) supports the Assessment program through software design and development and applied statistics specific to educational assessment. The staff comprises more than sixty software engineers, programmers, project managers, graphic designers, technical writers, testers, and system analysts. We are currently seeking a Web Production Associate to join our growing and dynamic team. CSSC’s main services include, but are not limited to: • Building and maintaining systems around pre-production, processing, analysis, online testing, and electronic reporting of assessments• Conducting analyses and generating data for assessment reports• Performing research and development towards innovative functions of assessment systems• Supporting systems around hosting, code and data deployments, system back-ups, etc. Responsibilities: This position will belong to CSSC’s Interaction Design Team, assisting with lead designers on large high-profile online assessment systems. The possibility of taking on smaller projects with minimal supervision also exists. We’re looking for someone who has a solid design sense, can problem solve some tricky CSS issues and has an intuitive feel for both usability and accessibility. Future potential to get involved in creative design. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: 1. Web site maintenance; including edits on help guides, static messages, web links. 2. Troubleshoot display and rendering issues in dynamic, web-based applications on a variety of browsers and operating systems. 3. Implement a simple design from a Photoshop file using css and html (no tables).4. Develop wireframes for an application.5. Provide programmers and managers feedback on usability.6. Assist with testing (as needed). As the leading organization the field of the prevention and treatment of pediatric AIDS, the Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation engages staff to produce high quality proposals for multiple funding opportunities. The Proposal Production Specialist will play a key role in supporting the proposal production and formatting needs of the Foundation, primarily in the New Business Development (NBD) team. S/he will play a key role in supporting the NBD team in the proposal development process and final production, coordinate participation in domestic and international conferences, and maintain a current database of Foundation corporate capability statements. S/he will be responsible for editing, formatting, and assembling Foundation proposals, in addition to providing overall support to the team. Essential Duties and Responsibilities • Ensure the use of Foundation standards for a uniform and professional look for proposals, for both electronic and hard-copy submissions. • Coordinate the assembly of document components and annexes (both electronic and hard copy) during the proposal development process, ensuring compliance with donor’s requirements for length, format, file size, and style, and ensuring completion, printing, and submission according to proposal deadline. • Visually capture technical content messages in the design and creation of graphics and diagrams for a range of documents. • Format documents to maximize the persuasiveness and visual presentation of information around the Foundation’s Mission and work. • Copy-edit documents and provide quality assurance oversight to minimize errors. • Format budget spreadsheets, tables, and other Excel documents to ensure they are presentable. • Coordinate NBD participation in domestic/international meetings and conferences. • Centralize Foundation corporate capability statements and update on a quarterly basis, along with other knowledge management duties as needed. • Assist the Program Coordinator to maintain the NBD Intranet site and routinely monitor websites for new funding opportunities. Required Qualifications • Minimum of 3-5 years of professional experience, including direct experience with document production and editing, in both hard copy and electronic form • Understanding of needs related to proposal document development preferred, including basic graphic design experience • Minimum level of Bachelors degree required • Submission of sample professional documents/ publications will be requested Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities • Extensive experience with Microsoft Office Suite • Experience with graphics software programs (Visio, SmartDraw, Adobe, etc.) • Excellent organizational skills with strong attention to detail • Proven ability to work effectively and multi-task as member of a dynamic inter-departmental team in a fast-paced environment • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written • Strong administrative skills NOTE: Please visit our website at www.pedaids.org for the most updated job listings.
