The Production Associate is responsible for the operation of process equipment, analytical and support equipment for the production of Biopharmaceuticals. It is expected that the Associate will have demonstrated full proficiency in all unit operations associated with the production of at least one product and become proficient in the operations associated with at least one additional product. Examples of equipment that the Associate must be able to operate proficiently include process controllers, PC based controllers, pH meters and controllers, electronic scales, spectrophotometers, conductivity meters and other basic laboratory equipment. The Associate is expected to have demonstrated competence in standard laboratory operations including dispensing chemicals, volumetric and gravimetric measurements, making accurate dilutions and preparing buffers and solutions. Strict compliance with applicable cGMPs is required. Manufacturing operations will be conducted in strict accord with written BPRs and SOPs. All documentation will be accurately completed in a timely fashion. The Associate is expected to maintain the production areas in a clean and orderly operating condition. The production supervisor may also assign various support operations such as maintaining stock inventories of supplies and spare parts. Additionally, the Associate Operator will perform other duties as assigned.In addition to the above requirements it is expected that the Associate will:1. Have a thorough understanding of the theory and principles behind the manufacturing operations being conducted.2. Have a thorough understanding of the equipment being operated such that the Operator is able to assist in the troubleshooting and correction of production problems and to take Corrective action if necessary.3. Make recommendations for BPR and SOP changes where necessary to correct document errors or to ensure the document accurately reflects the processes being carried out.4. Skills and Qualifications: Associates degree in a science-related area +2 years of related GMP experience with at least 1 year of direct Bulk Manufacturing experience. Proficiency in reading and writing English. Experience working with established GMP procedures and in equipment assembly disassembly cleaning and operation. Must be able to learn and perform basic computer operations such as MS Office and Outlook and other Computer Based software.
