About the Opportunity: The production supervisor provides front line leadership and supervision of staff including assemblers/operators and team leads. The production supervisor ensures that product teams are staffed appropriately to meet Oracle created production schedules with appropriately trained operators. This position is accountable for the consistent focus of all teams regarding daily visual metrics, productivity target achievement and health and safety target achievement. The production supervisor works closely with the operations manager to improve all aspects of production through lean initiatives including kaizen activities, production smoothing, the implementation of standard work, and the elimination of waste. The incumbent will be present in the work areas at all times, work the same schedule as the operators and operate the lines in accordance with the facility and the company procedures. The production supervisor prepares and updates daily reports regarding schedule attainment, materials shortages, scrap, resources and equipment utilization while leading cell leads to meet divisional and facility related goals for quality, cost and delivery. The production supervisor studies production schedules for assigned product lines, estimates worker requirements, tracks and orders required materials, ensures accuracy in inventory counts and job orders, approves payroll, executes employee-related actions, oversees training activities on the floor and resolves problems in conjunction with engineering, quality, materials or human resources managers. A minimum of five years' experience in a complex assembly supply chain environment leading employees and working directly with customers in a service oriented business is desired. The ability to work with others in a team-based environment is essential. Shop floor planning aptitude is required. Demonstrated computer skills including Oracle and Microsoft Office applications is needed. Strong verbal and written communications skills, planning/organizing skills, and demonstrated leadership and skills of influence are essential. Experience working in an ISO 9000/clean room/quality regulated system is preferred. Demonstrated success in technical problem solving in accordance with Lean or Six Sigma principles is preferred.
