Assist with the planning and coordination of personnel, equipment and facilities across departments to achieve overall production goals. Analyze problems and implement countermeasures to improve department performance. Resopnsibilities: * Provide leadership and motivation, by example, to personnel and support functions to achieve monthly production goals. Manages all facets of manufacturing, including human resource management, inventory management, equipment and facilities management. * Provide information regarding and maintain compliance to Company policies, safety standards, and good housekeeping practices. * Monitor work output in terms of speed and quality. * Assure quality is built in to products (minimizing rework or errors) through training, team management, and motivation for quality. * Interact with operations functions to support manufacturing, including product management, engineering, production planning, quality, accounting, and materials. * Assist in setting reasonable periodic (monthly, quarterly, annually, etc.) goals that achieve the desired aligned company results. * Assist in forecasting needs and requirements in order to execute long-term, quarterly, and annual production plans. * Assure that required materials are available at each work station well ahead of time; address shortage or problems early so as to minimize impact on production. * Assure the machinery, equipment and facilities are properly maintained, calibrated and documented for efficient production. * Consistently pursue the development and adoption of lean manufacturing techniques to minimize resource requirements while maximizing production output. * Develop and implement production activities and methods that reduce bottlenecks and maximize production throughput. * Work with Quality Assurance team to identify manufacturing root cause and take all necessary actions to eliminate all identified production problems. Requirements: * BS Degree in engineering, technology or manufacturing management * 3-5 Years supervisory experience in a technology manufacturing environment * Prior experience in a laser diode manufacturing environment

Job Title: Shift Superintendent (Production Supervisor) Company: American Crystal Sugar Company Location: Sidney, MT Description: Direct shift operations according to procedures to produce quality products at lowest unit cost Shift Superintendent Sidney, MT As the nation's largest beet sugar producer, American Crystal Sugar Company is committed to finding ways to continually improve. Sidney Sugars Incorporated, located in Sidney, MT, a subsidiary of American Crystal Sugar Company, currently has an opening for a Shift Superintendent. The purpose of this position is to direct the shift operations of the factory in accordance with established procedures and in a manner that produces quality products at the lowest unit cost. During inter-campaign, this position will also direct and assist in the mechanical repair of equipment as well as the installation of capital equipment. The principal accountabilities of this position include but are not limited to: Produce a quality product within specification with minimal waste of product or resources, while complying with all company and regulatory standards and specifications. Ensure maximum factory output through prudent factory operation. Ensure all safety, sanitation, process accounting, product quality, environmental, and staffing functions comply with company policy and procedures. Communicate clearly and effectively with crew on processing and labor-management topics. Identify sugarbeet delivery problems and works with the Agriculture to correct. Ensure maintenance and quality control are performing within established guidelines. Ensure compliance with all good manufacturing practices. Administer time and attendance, work performance, disciplinary documentation and other administrative duties within company policy and constraints of union contract. To be successful in this position requires an extensive knowledge of the sugarbeet refining process, a solid mechanical aptitude, good computer skills, and knowledge of product quality standards, HACCP, sanitation procedures, good manufacturing practices, environmental and OSHA compliance. This incumbent must also possess excellent supervisory and leadership skills. These skills are typically obtained through a 2 4 year technical education and/or a minimum of 3 5 years of sugarbeet processing and/or related food processing experience.
