PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Functional Duties: • Responsible for training and developing department staff. • Effectively manage production schedule to optimize through-put and productivity. • Communicate with Inventory Control Manager to minimize material outages. • Measure and record efficiencies, perform to bill-of-materials standards, and report to supervisor. • Conduct associates’ performance appraisals and make pay recommendations to Production Manager. • Partner with Scheduling department in determining labor capacity and machine/tool requirements. • Conduct regular quality meetings and manage outcomes. • Manage overall quality of finished product and process improvements. • Use process control charts to measure quality and eliminate non-conformances. Technical Skills:  Understand customer’s quality standard.  Maintain neat and orderly work areas using best practices to ensure safety of employees.  Demonstrate working knowledge of Business Process Improvement concepts and tools, quality standards such as ISO 9000 measuring efficiency improvements, continually eliminate waste, and execute root cause problem solving.  Ascertain a deep level of product knowledge (processes and techniques) for areas of responsibility.  Write work instructions for processes under your supervision. Interpersonal Skills:  Demonstrate coaching, motivation, associate accountability and other key leadership skills.  Communicate with Production Manager regarding challenges, potential obstacles, successes, and resources needed (people, skill-sets, tools, equipment, etc.) in executing against plan.  Constructively communicate needed behavior changes (performance improvement plans) to associates with a defined Plan of Action.  Able to effectively execute established plans against overall company goals and functional objectives.
