I. Overview of position:  Under the direction of the Director of Operations, create and manage the master production plan.  Coordinate forecasting, production scheduling, and plant operations activities as they relate to the production plan.  Interface with Sales, Customer Service Representatives, Department Managers and Estimating staff to determine the product forecast.  Analyze manufacturing capacity constraints and their impact on the master production plan.  Develop and present plan reports and performance, explain variances and methods of improvement.    II. Description of Duties/Responsibilities/Customer Requirements:   Review work received and due dates and plan and prepare schedule for all printing and bindery operations.  Advise Managers and Customer Service Representatives of any potential scheduling conflicts and/or production delays.   Using estimated running rates, prepare and distribute detailed schedules to utilize all available equipment and personnel to achieve timely completion of orders in the most cost effective manner.   Advise Managers and the Director of Operations of scheduling/production conflicts and delays and recommend corrective action deemed necessary to achieve production schedules.   Attend production and related meetings as necessary to discuss new and current jobs and their status.   Assist other team members of Production Planning Department on layouts, estimating, quotes, and other related duties and tasks.   Review/compare estimated running rates to actual historical performance and recommend modifications as needed.   III. Preferred Qualifications (Education, Experience, Skills, etc.):  Requires a four year college degree in Production Control or equivalent plus two to three years of experience in production scheduling operations in a manufacturing industry using Prestige Scheduler by Pivotal Z and or other scheduling programs as to become familiar with processes, equipment and procedures.
