Job Title: Shipyard Production Planner & Scheduler (with clearance) Company: Kelly Automotive Services Grp Location: Newport News, VA Description: Shipyard Production Planner & Scheduler (with clearance) Do you have experience with shipyard operations and/or manufacturing processes? Kelly Government Solutions is in search of an highly motivated Production Planning and Scheduler with a Confidential Clearance who  has experience in manufacturing, production operations or related military service, and possess a well-founded knowledge of production operations, production processes, ship systems, and planning methods and schedules and/or plant maintenance activities.   Exposure to network scheduling techniques is highly preferred, SAP, All Microsoft Office 7 programs, Database management, and ability to adapt to a changing environment on a daily basis. The successful candidate: -Plans, prepares, issues and controls production schedules and coordinates with material requirements to ensure a controlled flow of approved materials timed to meet production requirements.  -Advises management of the status of work in progress, material availability, and potential production problems to ensure that personnel, equipment, materials and services are provided as needed.  -Schedules equipment and personnel, confirms material supply and demands, prepares work orders or purchase requests for the production or purchase of components or parts based on a master production schedule, shop load and inventory requirements.  -Coordinates interdepartmental activity with quality assurance, manufacturing, purchasing, engineering, inventory control, traffic, etc.  -Schedules and expedites the movement of parts by means of move orders, stock transfers and requests for shipping orders.  This job requires an Apprentice School graduate, or equivalent and 0 to 2 years experience.  A candidate should possess a well-founded knowledge of shipyard operations, production processes, ship systems, and planning methods and schedules and/or plant maintenance activities.  A B.S. Degree in Business Administration, Production Operations Management, or related discipline, and exposure to network scheduling techniques is highly preferred.  US citizenship is required. Kelly Services is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
