The Multi-Site Production Scheduler/Analyst is a support role for the business unit (IBU) based production schedulers. The Master Production Scheduler/Analyst is the principal liaison between Order Management, DRP Management, the Planning Group and the Production Groups in interpreting inventory requirements into production schedules and resource needs at the item (SKU) and business unit level. The Multi-Site Production Scheduler/Analyst also analyzes the performance of the business unit Schedulers relative to the Period Plan and Inventory Policy, and guides business unit Schedulers on finite schedule management and capacity balancing. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: This position has no direct reports ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: ? To monitor the daily Production Schedules and short-term demand/order data by IBU (utilizing the Planning 4-weeker, Daily Delivery Performance Hit Reports, customized queries and other data sources) and to guide mitigation of projected Out of Stocks or Safety Stock deficits. ? To monitor production to schedule by IBU and analyze and report performance to guide continuous improvement or capacity/resource allocation. ? From directions of the Production Planning Manager and input of the Distribution Resource Manager, determine target inventory by SKU at proscribed levels to keep a high rate of turnover, minimizing inventory investment and ensuring the freshest products, while satisfying the inventory levels needed to support demand with the minimum number of out-of-stock events at each of the IBUs. ? Analyze and adjust the Stocking Periods and Planning BOMs by SKU by IBU, and advise on optimal batch sizes to IBU Schedulers. ? Analyze and advise IBU Schedulers on production schedules with the aim of balancing staff capacities and production efficiencies. ? Use and promote further development of the computer system tools to automate and calculate the forecasting and scheduling functions. ? Adjust manufacturing production schedules and provide detailed production instructions where applicable and as necessary in a supporting role to IBU Schedulers. ? Resolve planning and scheduling challenges through a combination of queries, reports, communication and other problem solving techniques. ? Complete the required daily routine of analysis, problem solving, and daily reporting which incorporates daily priorities related to Order Management Demand, Manufacturing Supply, and Distribution and Inventory requirements. ? Write queries used for extracting customer order information, inventory requirements, supply and demand signals, etc. ? Resolves materials requirements with buyers to meet production schedule needs. ? Adjusts and corrects item system parameters, such as routings, Bill of Materials, calendars, work centers, etc., as needed to reflect the dynamic product mix and manufacturing environment. ? Participate in the weekly review of production capacity scheduling, coordinating planned downtime allocations for machine maintenance to inform the production scheduling availability of processes and machines. ? Report in the weekly review of production-to-schedule performance with production supervisors. ? Participation, and sometimes leadership, in continuous improvement activities impacting processes or materials in planning and production. OTHER NECESSARY FUNCTIONS: ? Follows all policies, procedures, ergonomic standards and safety requirements directed by GMCR and the department. ? Performs other duties as requested by management. QUALIFICATIONS: ? Five plus years in supply chain management with demonstrated record of achievement and advancement. ? Solid understanding of supply chain tactics for a manufacturing environment; experience with food manufacturing preferred. ? Prior experience with multi-site enterprise resource planning systems, including production scheduling, Materials Requirements Planning (MRP) and Manufacturing Resource Planning (MRP II). ? Outstanding organizational skills to ensure tight deadlines are met both internally and externally. ? Ability to guide the work of the BU production schedulers, work autonomously and in a team environment, to get along with others and with management both internally and externally. ? Ability and enthusiasm for acquiring new skills and knowledge, as well as for developing others. ? Highly developed analytic and problem-solving skills ? Competent data management, query, and Microsoft Office skills, especially Outlook and Word. High level of skill and experience with Excel required. ? Positive, motivated team player with the ability to work effectively in a fast paced environment ? Ability to uphold Safety standards, participate in Continuous Process Improvement on the job, and follow our Manufacturing best practices. ? Ability to get along with others, be punctual, and follow instructions. ? Ability to follow GMCR policies and procedures as well as our Operating principles. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORKING CONDITIONS: - Predominately sedentary light office position with high frequency of keyboarding/computer work required (67% - 100% of the workday).
