Job description This position manages the master scheduling, production planning, material planning and procurement and inventory control functions for all Animal Health, Pharma, and Bayer AG Animal health products produced and filled at the Shawnee site in order to optimize customer service, optimize inventory level, and optimize the efficiency of manufacturing operations (costs). This position is the primary contact between Animal Health Commercial Operations and Technical Operations. 1)Manages the positions responsible for creating and optimizing the production plans for all product produced at Shawnee in an effort to meet the needs of Commercial Operations while considering capacity constraints and utilization, availability of resources and materials and cycle times within Manufacturing. 2)Serves as the primary contact for Commercial Operations, Production, strategic Procurement, Quality Assurance/Control, Validation, Distribution, Accounting and PS Controlling regarding issues related to product supply and inventory levels. 3)Set guidelines for stocking levels of finished goods, raw materials and components. 4)Ensures departmental compliance with good Accounting Practices and cGMP's as it relates to inventory control functions. 5)Serve as SAP business process owner for Material Requirements planning, Detailed scheduling and relative Master data issues. 6)Prepares inventory analysis to determine feasibility input for Management Approval forms relating to new product launches, sales promotions, and product discontinuations. 7)Manages the positions within Product Supply responsible for the day to day procurement of raw materials, components and supplies that the support the production schedules. 8)Serves as the primary contact on the site for planning and delivering product to third party customers and resolving any problems relating to product supply. The incumbent has primary responsibility to provide solutions to a myriad of problems inherent in organizing materials, inventory, personnel resources, facilities and other services and requirements necessary to produce Pharmaceutical products and meet market demands of both internal and external customers. The position faces the challenges of optimize customer service, smoothing manufacturing production to optimize use of resources. The incumbent must have the ability to make decisions and set departmental policies based on knowledge of plant capabilities and capabilities of support groups while maintaining a high level of customer service both internally and externally. Effective performance depends on the incumbent's ability to effectively manage the master scheduling, material planning and procurement, production planning, and inventory control functions to provide pharmaceutical products to fulfill the demands by both internal and external customers. The individual must also consider optimum utilization of resources through a system of analytical reports, internal controls, and evaluations and communicate substantial fluctuations to the appropriate management. Your qualifications Minimum Requirements for this position: -This position requires a BA/BS degree with at least 10 years of material requirements planning (MRP), material management and production scheduling experience or MBA/MS with 4-8 years experience of material requirements planning (MRP), material management and production scheduling experience. -Knowledge and experience with material management techniques, computerized planning and production modeling systems, production scheduling skills and procurement are required to be successful in this position. -Knowledge in SAP R/3 with SD, MM, PP-PI modules and APO. -Knowledge of Good Manufacturing practices is also required. -Certification through APICS is preferred but not required. -Requires an understanding of Sales, marketing, Cost accounting, Production, QA/QC and Purchasing to effectively interface with other departments. -Excellent communication skills, networking, negotiation and other people skills are essential to gather information to coordinate plans, schedules and changes. -Analytical skills are required to analyze inventory value, determine and troubleshoot capacity constraint limitations in planning and analyze alternative plans based on cost or calculated constraints.
