General SummaryReporting to the Biscuit Product Manager, this position leads all phases of premium cookie production on the assigned line. Responsible for safety performance, schedule attainment, conformance to specification, quality standards, and direct labor and process yield performance. Principal Accountabilities1. 25% - Directs scheduling, training, and daily work processes of up to 40 hourly production employees.2. 25% - Takes necessary action to meet schedule attainment, direct labor and process yield budgetary commitment.3. 20% - Ensures strict adherence to OSHA and company safety policies.4. 20% - Lead Star Team activities for Safety, Reliability, Cost and Quality improvement. Participate and/or lead in plant continuous improvement/lean activities.5. 10% - Production reporting including SAP confirmation, QA documentation, Job Code reporting.6. 10% - Maintain positive employee relations on the shift through fair, consistent interpretation and enforcement of company policies and procedures as well as prompt resolution of associated issues.Job Complexity• Must possess the ability to overcome resistance to organizational change, influence both hourly and salaried employees to embrace it, and lead the change initiative.• Must be able to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize based on business needs.• Must be able to utilize lean tools within department. • Must develop and maintain rapport with employees at all levels of the Campbell Soup/Pepperidge Farm organization to drive results.• Must stay current with respect to new lean concepts and methodologies, and make recommendations for cost reduction through the utilization of lean tools Job Specifications• B.A./B.S. in Business, Food Science or related field required.• Previous supervisory experience in a food manufacturing environment is desirable.• Knowledge and experience with various disciplines of continuous improvement including Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, Theory of Constraints, etc. Green Belt or Black Belt preferred.• Strong interpersonal and leadership skills are required. Spanish language skills desirable.• To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of AS400 Manufacturing software; SAP software, Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint processing software.• Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.• Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
