Must have experience with: ? Manufacturing processes and production flow ? Lean Manufacturing ? ISO ? Synchronous Manufacturing ? Production planning and/or scheduling ? ? High volume, high mix production schedule ? Experience with wood finishing is a plus, but not required. Could have a background in furniture, cabinetry, etc. This plant does not have a lot of high technology equipment, and no automation, robotics, programmable machinery, etc. Also does not have a lot of IT support. Will be required to know how to develop reports and tracking systems for production measurement and production control. Nashville plant has approximately 300 employees. Will be responsible to manage plant operating budget and maintain profitability. Will be expected to lead production increases of up to 35% in the next year.     Responsible for assisting in the management of a high volume and high quality prescription eyewear manufacturing site by inspiring and directing the leadership team and team members to meet and exceed the manufacturing goals and objectives established for the facility.   Essential Responsibilities:   1.       Assist in managing the scheduling of the facility: set work schedules, provide training and coaching, conduct performance evaluations, set departmental goals and expectations, and oversee the budget. 2.       Lead the activities of the supervisors, team leaders, and team members in the production of quality prescription eyewear in accordance with work instructions and company policy to ensure a quality, on-time delivered product. 3.       Effectively communicate business needs, schedule changes, process problems, and success stories. Insure the appropriate level of accountability for facility goals and objectives of the lab. 4.       On behalf of the manufacturing director, follow through with supervisors, team leaders, and team members’ performance and corrective actions in a timely manner. Effectively communicate expectations and behavior changes required, as needed. Follow up with each supervisor, team leader, and team member on his or her progress against set expectations. 5.       Lead and partner with the leadership team to identify quality, process, workflow, personnel problems, and work to quickly resolve according to company policy, practice, and guidelines. 6.       Facilitate the utilization of problem solving techniques, teamwork building strategies, process control, and continuous process improvement tools to meet or exceed the facility key operating statistics. 7.       Effectively plan and manage projects for changes or improvements to existing processes, implementation of new processes, and installation of new equipment. 8.       Assist the leadership team in the execution of their duties and in meeting company and facility goals and objectives. 9.       Promote the management of support and administrative functions, i.e. stockroom, customer service, maintenance, and human resources to ensure quality, delivery, and personal expectations are met. 10.    Work with the leadership team to ensure appropriate process audits are conducted and implemented.   (Audits will identify the need for the appropriate containment and corrective/preventive actions, which will lead to minimizing or eliminating process deviations and non-conforming product root causes). 11.    Encourage supervisors, team leaders, and team members to elevate their level of technical and soft skills expertise. Proactively identify and development future leaders in the organization within the facility. 12.    On behalf of the facility manager, actively participate in the comprehensive development of the leadership team, i.e. leadership, conflict resolution, communication, process control, problem solving, etc. 13.    Lead activities to communicate and maintain adherence to company policies, safety standards, and good housekeeping practices. 14.    Maintain adherence to company policies. 15.    Assume additional responsibilities and perform special projects as needed or directed.   Education and Experience Requirements: Bachelor degree in Business Management, Technical Field or equivalent work experience. Proven facilitating and leadership skills. Ability to interact in an effective manner with all levels of the organization. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Proven record of handling multiple tasks with little to no direct supervision. Computer literate: Windows Office applications and e-mail. Eight to Ten years in a manufacturing leadership capacity with quantifiable results.   Physical Requirements: Able to rotate from sitting and standing and lift up to 25 pounds.
