Job Title: Plant Manager/General Manager Company: Location: Fort Collins, CO Description: We are a mid-size production bakery looking for a Plant/General Manager. This person should have some bakery, frozen food/manufacturing experience. We are looking for an energetic, detail oriented person who is willing to work overtime/weekends/nights Role and Responsibilities Direct and motivate a leadership team while overseeing the daily operations of a growing production facility. Ensure that all safety procedures are followed and that all production goals are met in a fast paced team environment producing premium quality, frozen desserts for the food service and retail industries. Operate the facility with the highest regard for quality. This candidate will have a passion for continuous improvement. Must have demonstrated experience in understanding and executing against FDA and other regulatory requirements. ? 4-7 years of Manufacturing Management experience in a frozen food processing facility. Bakery experience a plus ? Bachelor Degree or commensurate experience strongly preferred ? Bi-lingual in English and Spanish is preferred ? Must be able to read and write in English ? Direct and coordinate plant operations within company policies and procedures ? Maintain a clean and safe plant ? Establish and enforce plant and company policies and procedures ? Responsible for plant production goals ? Foster a well-trained and motivated staff ? Confer with department heads to ensure coordination of purchasing, planning, production, and shipping ? Responsible for establishing all shift production schedules ? Select and train plant supervisory and administrative staff ? Conduct employee performance reviews ? Schedule and conduct plant meetings ? Attend scheduled company training and meetings ? Supervise production operation in accordance with plant GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) and procedures ? Train and coach production management ? Responsible for appropriate staffing levels within each production shift ? Operate within Standard Operating Procedures (SOP?s) and (GMP) standards ? Works with executive management to plan and maintain training for all staff throughout the year ? Complete plant paperwork as well as review production paperwork ? Must be hands on to assist production management as necessary ? Ability to communicate sense of urgency to Production Managers, Supervisors, Administrative and Warehouse staff ? Ability to learn how to understand production reports and properly label production batches ? Able to take constructive criticism from executive level management ? Ability to learn how to run and troubleshoot all equipment on the line ? Ability to improve efficiency, without compromising safety and quality ? Ability to understand mechanized equipment as well as the dangers associated with them ? Ability to multitask, and be detail oriented ? Able to learn how to read building sheets and formulas ? Responsible for reviewing production records in a timely manner ? Perform all work assigned to position is performed in accordance with specifications, instructions and requirements ? Display ethical behavior in the workplace and group settings which provides a positive influence on the production floor ? Ability to work in a fast paced environment ? Demonstrates good verbal communication skills Qualifications and Education Requirements ? Must have a flexible schedule ? Must be willing to work long hours as well as some weekends ? Must be willing to travel up to 10% ? Must thrive in a multi-cultural environment ? Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook are strongly preferred ? Advanced reading, writing and math skills are required for this position ? Experience in Lean or other improvement methodologies a plus Physical Requirements ? Stoop, kneel or bend ?
