Dendreon is seeking a motivated Material Manager who will lead the materials operations function, including the planning and implementation of activities related to the material purchase, inventory control, shipping/receiving and stores functions. Dendreon is a fast-paced, high volume production environment. Team building and problem-solving are essential to success in this position. General Summary: Performs a wide variety of activities, which may include one or more of the following: Develops and maintains policies, procedures and material control systems. Ensures materials are ordered and in stock to meet company requirements, while maintaining acceptable inventory levels based on expiry dating. Develops material schedules and coordinates the efficient movement of materials with purchasing, production, development and engineering. Reviews and plans requirements for purchasing materials. Prepares material requirements plans on an automated computer system. Assists with the establishment and maintenance of the production control system. Oversees the master schedules and ensures comprehensive compliance with materials requirements for manufacturing. Provides technical expertise to other departments as part of cross-functional project teams. Contributes to the development of department budget. Proficient in MS Office applications and working knowledge of ERP system. Working Conditions and Physical Requirements: Ability to gown aseptically for work in Clean Room environments. Handling of biologic materials. May be required to work alternate shifts. Ability to lift 50lbs unassisted. Some travel may be required.
