Job details Req # 95298BR Job Title MATERIALS PLANNER II Job Description The Forecasting and Material Planning team is responsible for ensuring that the networkâ??s equipment needs are met in a timely fashion while also overseeing network inventory in our distribution centers in a cost efficient manner. Major Responsibilities: Work backorder report and determine what needs to be ordered. Before ordering, identify opportunities for savings through procurement of items on the secondary market or through use of existing inventory. Review pending customer orders for financial accuracy, and approve, research, or reject as necessary. Serve as liaison between customers and warehouses or vendors. Answer questions on order status or vendor lead time. Project manage bulk orders. Enter and maintain item attribute information in PeopleSoft 8.9. Ensure information in PeopleSoft and Atlas is correct, and research and make corrections if necessary. Develop and maintain databases with information from various sources and generate reports as requested. Utilize tools such as ACCESS, QUERY, EXCEL, PEOPLESOFT, BUSINESS OBJECTS. Minimum Qualifications: Four year college degree required Expertise with all MS Office products, especially Excel, required Proven ability to prioritize work and effectively manage time Great communication and problem solving skills Experience with Access, Business Objects, and/or Atlas, especially Empac, preferred Plans for proper shipping, receiving, storing and distribution of materials, parts, supplies and equipment. Plans, schedules and monitors the movement of material through the production cycle. Determines material requirements from engineering and production schedules. Coordinates the efficient movement of materials with purchasing, production and engineering. Develops specifications for new contract orders. Works on problems of diverse scope where analysis of data requires evaluation of identifiable factors. Demonstrates good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions. Interacts with senior internal and external personnel. Multiple incumbent position and typically reports to a Manager. They must also work to inspire and motivate a staff of technical, quality and safety experts in a challenging new role. The candidate must be willing and able to participate in up to 6 months of training which will take place at technical the main training facilities at the Siemens Wind Power Headquarters in Denmark. Primary Responsibilities: - Production and inventory planning - Managing and coaching direct reports - Develop and implement process improvements as needed - Maintaining material flow while keeping inventories in check - Managing suppliers, logistics and quality performance to improve asset management - Sparring and identifying developmental for all personal groups and ensure high competence level in own organization via and educational plan per group and individuals. Set targets for all departments within logistics and align the team. - Ensure agreed customer service level (especially towards project and service) - Identifying process changes and implementing them together with relevant parties and according guidelines.
