Job Title: Production Technician Company: Occidental Petroleum Location: Carlsbad, NM Description: Essential Job Duties: Operation, surveillance, and troubleshooting oilfield surface equipment. This includes validating and inputting production and injection data, performing preventative maintenance, minor maintenance, and minor repairs on equipment, reporting spills and leaks, coordinating with contract service providers, initiating process for major equipment repairs, serving as a company rep. for the sale of oil, gas, and condensate, and coordinating abandonment of facilities. Required Qualifications: 1.3-5 years oilfield production operations experience with a responsible attitude for personal safety and the safety of co- workers, contractors & the public 2.Thorough working knowledge of surface equipment types and applications including HP gas wells, injection wells, plunger lift, beam units, compressors and ESPs 3.Ability to troubleshoot mechanical problems, repair minor mechanical problems, and perform root cause failure analysis 4.Knowledge of or familiarity with BLM and NMOCD regulatory requirements 5.Ability to perform preventative maintenance and to participate in RCM analyses 6.Experience in basic troubleshooting of automation and electrical equipment and capable of repairing some equipment, such as actuators & level alarms. 7.Competent in Microsoft programs 8.Excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills 9.Ability to work rotation work schedule (12 hour days, 7 days on/7 days off) 10.Must have valid driver’s license and strong driving record. Additional Desired Qualifications: Indian Basin experience preferred. High School grad, G.E.D. or equivalent experience preferred *
