East Multnomah County Food Processing Plant is looking for an experienced Maintenance Manager. The Maintenance Manager provides leadership by example and directs the Maintenance Department by setting goals, monitoring work, and evaluating results to ensure that departmental and organizational objectives and operating requirements are met while holding employees accountable to company policies, procedures, food safety, and OSHA safety requirements. The Maintenance Manager is responsible for the safe maintenance, repair or replacement of plant equipment and systems, to ensure maximum production quantity and quality. ? The Maintenance Manager will supervise and also independently perform routine general maintenance and repair throughout the facility. ? Maintenance, repair and mechanical troubleshooting areas include electrical, plumbing, lift truck, refrigeration/freezer, ammonia, carpentry, various processing equipment and facilities, including conveyor components, refrigeration systems, boilers, hydraulic and pneumatic systems ? Responsible for the equipment and processing line changeovers in accordance with OSHA Standards. ? Participates in objective setting, plan development and performance review of plant performance. ? Initiates, implements, and manages the plant maintenance based on best practices in the industry, with an emphasis on planning/scheduling and preventive/predictive maintenance. ? Maintains and repairs shop equipment and tools to include inventory of spare parts, supplies, and equipment and ordering when necessary. ? Prepares reports, analyzes data, and makes recommendations for improving plant operations and solving maintenance-related problems. ? Monitors and reviews the operation of plant equipment and systems constantly, to minimize unplanned downtime, anticipate solve problems in a timely manner, and to identify opportunities for improvement. ? Tracks, analyzes and improves key maintenance parameters such as asset utilization, maintenance cost, PM compliance, schedule compliance, etc. ? Ensures city, county, state, and federal regulations relating to the maintenance department are met at all times. ? Directs, maintains, and enforces the safety program for the maintenance department; reviews safety records to uphold standards of maximum safety for all maintenance technicians. QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS: Education: Associates degree from two-year college preferably in Engineering or a related technical field. Experience: Individual must possess a minimum of 5 years combined leadership experience including 1 to 3 years in management and/or supervision. Five years experience in the maintenance and/or operation of a process manufacturing facility Equivalent combination of training, education and/or experience may be considered. Required: ? Refrigeration systems, ammonia ? Must possess a practical knowledge of the mechanical, technical, and quality control aspects of manufacturing processes. ? High level knowledge of OSHA safety guidelines. ? Limited maintenance electricians (lme) license required. ? Strong project management skills. Able to balance competing priorities, complex situations, and tight deadlines. ? Proven leadership and consensus building skills. ? Solid and broad understanding of all aspects of production in a manufacturing environment. ? Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communications skills. ? Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and have a valid driver license. Strongly Preferred: ? Working knowledge of production practices in food processing facility in order to have hands-on knowledge of the process-packaging-service equipment and the repairs and maintenance of them. ? Welding and Fabrication skills a plus. Physical Requirements and Working Environment: This position is a ?hands-on? position that will require a variety of physical activity to include frequent pushing, pulling, lifting and carrying to upwards of 50 pounds, occasional lifting and/or maneuvering up to 50 pounds and exerting up to 100 pounds of force. Working environment varies based on climate conditions and duties assigned. This position is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and frequently works in a loud environment. The employee may be exposed to debris, fumes, odors, airborne particles and dust. $25 - $30 per hour Depending on Experience and Licenses/Certifications / Company benefits discussed after 90 day minimum probationary period.
