ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Other duties may be assigned.• Moves cylinders to and from designated staging area; loads and unloads cylinders on or from vehicles via forklift per driver load sheets.• Moves cylinders by hand with aid of material equipment and sorts by type and size.• Scrape exterior of cylinders by hand with scraping knife to remove labels and may operate bead blaster to remove paint from cylinders.• Soaks cylinders in cleaning solution, rinse, and place on drying rack.• Applies new coat of paint to exterior of cylinders when needed.• Fills out and attaches new labels, warnings and other identification tags or decals to cylinders.• Examines exterior of cylinders for surface defects such as dents, cracks, or burns, and deciphers whether or not to quarantine the cylinder for further inspection.• Changes cylinder valves with wrench, or adjusts them with torque wrench to prescribed tension.
