Check or troubleshoot and repair production and prototype aircraft structures, parts and assemblies, mechanical and pneumatic. Assemble structures and associated components with the aid of jigs and fixtures by drilling, filing, reaming, counter-sinking, dimpling, de-burring, and fastening. Perform close tolerance assembly operations such as shimming, fitting, trimming, and aligning where variances may occur considerably from one assembly to another as with fairings and the mating of major structural assemblies. Layout coordinated hole patterns, cutouts, trim lines, mating points, assembly and installation locations using precision measuring instruments and equipment. Utilize procedures, processes, and methods learned through technical and on-the-job training. Work from schematics, specifications, assembly drawings and standard operating procedures. Setup and use a variety of precision measuring instruments such as dial indicators, micrometers, gauges, protractors, and calipers. Use common hand tools such as drills, reamers, de-burrers, files, rivet guns, and bucking bars. Perform assigned duties while wearing required safety equipment. Operate such equipment as grinders, band saws, one-shot, and presses.
