Primary customer and operational interface and is responsible for coordination between customers, their requirements and delivering value added products and services to fulfill customer expectations through achieving operational excellence and financial performance.This position directly reports to the division head and should be able to flawlessly cross function with matrix organizations and various businesses internally and externally to ensure performance excellence, revenue growth and financial profitability. Duties of Position - Essential duties and responsibilities:•Works closely with Customer Service and all other repair and logistics areas and departments to address quality, capacity, and technology issues.•Forecast future production levels and required product capabilities based on inputs from the Sales organization. Participates in developing the annual business plan for the business unit. Develops supporting capacity plans including staffing levels and equipment requirements. •Coordinates with Operations Managers and Supervisors regarding the daily work schedules. Assists in establishing priorities to ensure on-time deliveries. Monitors output against schedule and attempts to identify resource utilization concerns. Suggests adjustments in resources (personnel, equipment) as necessary. •Acts as resource to Production Manager and Supervisors in troubleshooting production problems including material, equipment, process, and product engineering. Works with staff to implement statistical process control (SPC) and continuous quality improvement team (CQIT) programs. •Directs the Quality function in establishing and communicating quality standards which reflect customers’ requirements. Institutes in-process inspection to assist Production and Process Engineering in quickly identify qualify problems and minimize scrap/rework. Maintains and advocates continuous quality improvement and certification programs (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma, ISO 9001, ISO14000, ISO13485).•Oversees the Facilities function including facilities expansions, layouts, equipment installations, and maintenance. Directs the Facilities Manager in establishing priorities and approving work plans. •Promotes employee safety and environmental compliance in the daily operations. Directs staff to advocate safe practices and participate in teams focusing on safety and environmental issues. •Monitors the performance of assigned Managers and Supervisors. Provides staff with timely feedback and coaching. Provides guidance to staff in dealing with non-routine employee relations issues e.g., employee warnings. Formally assesses the performance of direct reports. Assists staff in developing required skills. Ensures employees are familiarized with Company policies and procedures and trained on proper production methods. Actively promotes EEO/AAP programs. •Develops and implements programs to enhance employee morale and productivity. Fosters open communication of business objectives and performance. Qualifications Required:•Bachelor Degree in Electronics, Industrial, Manufacturing, or Mechanical Engineering gained from full-time study in recognized institutions. MBA or equivalent is desired. •Minimum 10 years experience, in operations management, including electrical, computer, mechanical, preferably in a multi-national OEM or electronics design and manufacturing business.•Expert knowledge of forward logistics and after market services in particular market of interest.•Expert experience with program, project and operations management in particular market of interest.•Proven experience in LEAN, Value Stream Mapping, TPM, 5S, TS16949, Six Sigma, Total Quality methodology particularly applied to business transitions.•In depth knowledge of engineering principles, techniques, methods, and disciplined in their application. •Familiar with matrix organizational structures•Broad understanding of after market services market requirements and ability to create proposals, strategic and tactical plans•Knowledge of supply chain management as it relates to after market services materials management•Strong analytical, planning, problem solving, and organizational skills•Strong interpersonal and communication skills•Strong negotiation skills•Capable of managing multiple projects in a fast paced, high mix, rapidly changing environment
