Job Title: Plant Superintendent Company: Location: Atlanta, GA Description: Medium-sized, manufacturing company is looking for a motivated individual for this position. Reporting to the Plant Manager, the Plant Superintendent will be responsible for scheduling and overseeing the daily operations of the plant in order to meet customer delivery expectations while ensuring safety, product quality, and efficiency of plant processes. REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor?s degree preferred in Engineering or related field and/or 8-10 years of experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in the PAPER INDUSTRY. This individual must have proven supervisory and leadership abilities, and also be an excellent communicator with exceptional interpersonal skills. Requires knowledge of computers and skilled in Excel and Word. Extreme multi-tasking capability and professionalism in a high pressure environment is a fundamental requirement. Requires occasional travel to plants and customer sites. RESPONSIBILITES: Supervises, directs and controls activities for all manufacturing personnel and schedules in the plant in order to optimize throughput. Communicates the schedule and current lead time to customer service personnel. Serves as the primary contact regarding hiring of plant direct labor personnel and cross training. Participates in the evaluation and training of plant labor and area managers. Provides direction necessary to achieve the best product delivery. Responsible for the overall quality and cost performance of every roll. Supervises assigned capital projects. Visits customer sites as necessary, interfacing with the customers and our sales group. Ensures all procedures/practices are compliant with the SPI and industry standards. Travels to other plants and interfaces with peers to maximize shop efficiency, as necessary. Provides updates and reports to the Plant Manager regarding problems and issues. Leads the continuous efforts including Lean, RCFA, RCM, ISO, etc. Champions equipment reliability and plant maintenance programs. Performs other duties and projects as assigned by management.
