Longview has an immediate need for an experienced Plant Manager to join their team in Seattle. The Plant Manager, in a shared working relationship with the Sales Manager, will oversee all operations of the plant and will report to the Container Division General Manager. The Plant Manager will interact with plant employees and customers to maximize productivity and profitability of the plant. This individual will be adept at establishing strong working relationships with employees and customers while facilitating changes to strengthen safety, production quality, production processes, customer service and profitability. Responsibilities include budget and financial management, oversight of plant performance and equipment, direct management of supervisors and production managers, and motivation and development of trust and teamwork. This individual will also head up all safety and quality efforts, coordinate training, resolve labor and production issues and ensure complaints are resolved.
Position requirements include a BS in business, production or related field. A minimum of 7+ years of experience in corrugated plant operations with at least 5+ years in a management role. Superior leadership skills, including lead-by-example management style and a passion for quality. Superior knowledge of and commitment to safety. History of success developing and managing budgets, improving metrics, and achieving aggressive goals. Ability to develop rapport/credibility with diverse functional groups including senior management. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. CPI,
6-Sigma, Lean manufacturing experience is a plus. Proficient with MS Office programs.
