The Manager of Operations will provide leadership for Sensing & Control's manufacturing operations in Woonsocket, RI and Acton, MA whichincludes production, manufacturing engineering, quality, Health, Safety and Environment (HSE), maintenance & facilities, and materials planning. Key Job Responsibilities include: Develop strong liaison with cross-functional support groups within a matrix organization: Procurement, Human Resources, and Finance Represent operations and develop cooperative relationships with leaders and members of key functions including Product Management/Marketing and New Product Development. Drive Honeywell Operating System activities by providing vision, direction, and leadership for the formulation and implementation of process improvements and lean initiatives through the use of Six Sigma tools. Establish best-in-class manufacturing processes for all products. Demonstrate leadership behaviors core to HOS Develop and deliver on the Annual Operating Plan (AOP) and metrics improvement Responsible for Strategic Planning (STRAP) development and execution Voting member of the respective product level Project Approval Committee Responsible for product cost and driving cost-out initiatives Ensure appropriate communications within the value stream to understand strategy, goals and actions necessary to achieve them Define and communicate roles and responsibilities as required to respond to customer needs Staff teams in order to support profitable growth Responsible for coordinating and initiating development activities in response to emerging business needs Work directly with program managers to ensure that development schedules are appropriate to requirements on timing and budget Provide for the personal and professional development of the entire organization to meet the current and future challenges of the business Lead planning for capacity and production scheduling in support of current and long term forecast requirements. Basic Qualifications: 5 years of progressive management experience (Manufacturing Leadership Experience) Bachelor's degree in engineering or operations management 3 yearsexperiencein Six Sigma and Lean Enterprise methodologies Additional Qualifications: Broad knowledge of lean manufacturing and six sigma principles, along with sound manufacturing and operations experiences. Column loading: Column hardware assembly, precision weighing of packing media, measuring specific solvents per loading conditions and set-up of column loading equipment. Column inspection and testing: Preparation of HPLC instruments, solvents, and test samples for QC testing. Includes identifying column serial numbers, inspection of workmanship, testing each column by sample injection, verifying test data, and recording results.
