  Shift 3– Weekend (F, SA, SU 12 Noon – 12:30 AM) Shift 4 – Weekend (F, SA, SU 12:00 Midnight – 12:00 Noon)     Responsible for a high volume, high quality prescription eyewear manufacturing operation. Provide leadership to designated shift to meet, and exceed, the manufacturing goals and objectives established for the facility; create a work environment that allows manufacturing associates to contribute to the company goals and objectives, the personal and professional growth they desire, and the opportunity to be involved in our business.   MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 1.        Lead the activities of the team members in the production of quality prescription eyewear in accordance with work instructions and company policy to ensure a quality product delivered on time. 2.        Manage the scheduling of production: set work schedules, provide training and coaching, conduct performance evaluations, and set departmental goals and expectations. 3.        Insure the appropriate level of accountability for facility goals and objectives at the team leaders and team members’ levels. 4.        Lead in the identification of quality, process, workflow, and personnel problems and works to resolve these quickly according to company policy, practice, and guidelines. 5.        Utilize problem solving techniques, teamwork building strategies, process control, and continuous process improvement tools to meet or exceed the facility key operating statistics. 6.        Facilitate meetings with the shift team members and team leaders at regularly scheduled intervals; the meeting purpose is to communicate the company and facility goals and objectives, successes, process problems, corrective and preventative actions, etc. 7.        Facilitate team leader workflow management, workforce scheduling, and team members’ placement to ensure the facility and company goals are successfully met or exceeded. 8.        Plan and manage innovations to existing processes, implementation of new processes, installation of new equipment, etc. 9.        Assist fellow supervisors and the facility manager in the execution of their duties and in meeting company and facility goals and objectives. 10.     Conduct, lead, or implement the appropriate process audits; the audits will identify the need for the appropriate containment, corrective, and preventive actions, leading to minimizing or eliminating process deviations and non-conforming product root causes. 11.     Interview, hire, and plan appropriate training for new team members. Be instrumental in encouraging team members to elevate their level of technical expertise. 12.     Interact with associates to establish rapport with team members, to take an interest in the individual and their work and to obtain knowledge of workplace issues. 13.     Supervise team members’ performance and discipline issues in a timely manner. Communicate expectations and behavior changes required in these cases. Follows up with teach team member on his or her progress against these expectations. 14.     Conform to cost center results and budgetary constraints; analyze variances and implement action plans to meet or exceed cost per Rx results. 15.     Participate in the team leaders’ comprehensive development in areas such as leadership, conflict resolution, communication, process control, problem solving, etc. 16.     Evaluate performance expectation plans (30/60/90 days, mid-year, and year-end) with team leaders and team members to meet individual goals and facility objectives. 17.     Communicate business needs, schedule changes, process problems, success stories, etc. 18.     Maintain adherence to company policies, safety standards, and good housekeeping practices. 19.     Assume additional responsibilities and perform special projects as needed or directed.   Job Requirements :   Education: ·         BS Preferred   Experience: Four years related manufacturing experience, and one year supervisory experience. ISO 9000 Optical training, cellular and LEAN manufacturing experience is helpful. Competent in PC skills and statistical skills. Good communication (oral and written) skills. Ability to work with peers and upper management.   Additional Requirements: Able to rotate from sitting and standing for long periods of time. Bend or twist as needed. Use of repetitive motion of hands and wrists as necessary. Lift up to 25 pounds.
