This is a new opportunity reporting to the Purchasing Manager with a dynamic and fast growing company headquartered in Norman, OK. EXPERIENCE: -Previous experiencing with purchasing software/systems. -At least 2-3 years previous purchasing experience, in a manufacturing and/or fabrication environment, preferable in energy equipment manufacturing. -Purchasing experience with structural steel, plumbing parts, valves and other energy-related manufacturing commodities preferred but not required. DESCRIPTION: -The Buyer would be responsible for a set group/range of commodities, raw materials and MRO items to support manufacturing operations in both Oklahoma and Colorado. -Responsible for obtaining competitive quotes, issuing purchase orders, receipt confirmation, follow up on backorders, etc. -The Buyer must be able to organize a heavy workload in order to meet various production schedule deadlines. -Must have "best value for the dollar" mindset and continually drive for improvement in services and cost. -Responsible for database accuracy for commodities managed. -Must help with quarterly inventories. Job Title: Manufacturing Buyer Company: Location: Tulsa, OK Description: Solid Claremore company is seeking an experienced buyer. The right candidate will need to have two or more years experience in purchasing in a manufacturing/oil field equipment environment. Under direct supervision, places orders for varieties of materials/supplies, usually with established vendors. Interviews or contacts supplier salespersons, and secures bids. May expedite the filling of orders by suppliers to meet production. May substitute items within pre-approved guidelines. Has authority to commit company to purchases within a maximum set dollar amount as established by management. Handles special projects, as assigned. Must possess good negotiation skills, good organizational skills and basic analytical skills. Clear criminal background and ability to pass a drug screen a must!!
