Job Title: Assistant Plant Manager Company: General Employment Location: Gardena, CA Description: Assistant Plant ManagerGardena, CAUnder the direction of the Plant Manager, directs and manages the production department and assists at various times in all aspects of the factory operations and administration, including production, QA, logistics, facility, equipment, and office administration. Directs and manages all aspects of the production department and supervises, trains, and evaluates its personnel. Participates as a member of the Production Team and is responsible for production scheduling, tracking projections and orders, and coordinating orders from other locations. Makes recommendations and assists the Plant Manager in developing the operating plan and monitoring results against the plan. Assists the Plant Manager in other matters, such as, but not limited to safety management, quality assurance, office administration, and risk management. Assists the Operations Support Manager in equipment and machinery acquisition and repairs, service contracts and agreements, etc. Maintains current permits and/or obtains new permits from appropriate governmental agencies; assures that the facility is in regulatory compliance; and assists in any inspections of the facility. Participates in special projects. Performs other work-related duties as assigned.  Job Requirements:Bachelor's Degree in business, engineering or related field or equivalent experience. Minimum 15 years experience in production/logistics in food manufacturing (may possibly consider other related industries). Food production background is highly preferred and desired. Minimum 7 years management experience, preferably in a production line and/or warehouse environment. Working knowledge of cGMPs, HACCP and experience with FDA, Silliker or other food safety inspections. Computer literate in MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Email. Must work evening and weekends as needed. Clean driver's abstract and valid CA driver's license. Strong written, verbal and interpersonal skills. Ability to lift, carry, push, pull 30 lbs. occasionally.
