Essential duties and responsibilities:

This position provides customers with solution to problems in the form of customized engineering products, which serves customer need, meets technical and economical goals and is profitable to manufacture.

  • Primary responsibility for responding to RFQ’s with the preparation and delivery of proposals to customers within the defined lead times Coordinates with customers, Outside Sales, Sales Representatives in a specific sales region to convince prospective customer of desirability and practicability of valve products & services offered in new construction and plant level sales opportunities.
  • Plays a key role in the development and implementation of sales strategies for sales opportunities in the region of responsibility
  • Review blueprints, plans, schematics, P&IDs and other customer technical and commercial specifications to develop and prepare cost estimates or projected increases in production from client’s use of proposed equipment of services
  • Responsible for accurate sizing, design selection, and error free proposal preparation including execution and organization of contract Risk Review Process
  • Identify key decision makers/players, and critical info for strategy development.
  • Determine competitor sizing and product by selecting information from computer generated databases
  • Confers with manufacturing to assure processes, techniques and time schedule will meet customer needs
  • Meet with customer to present technical solutions and close sales on high value projects
  • Analyzes customer’s problems and recommends corrective action
  • Supports integration opportunities with acquisitions with North America that are within the nuclear scope of work
Qualifications and required skills:
  • Externally focused with a drive to fully understand and meet customer needs – able to present a polished “face to the customer”
  • Demonstrates ownership, initiative, clear thinking, self-motivation and proven leadership capabilities
  • Candidate must have strong oral & written communication skills in English to include the ability to provide group presentations in a seminar environment and capable to coordinate highly technical discussions with product development and project engineering teams – further languages are a plus
  • Excellent time management, organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Understand the process of nuclear power plants as well as the basics of control valves and applications
  • Education - They will have a BS science/technical degree with at least 5 years experience or a masters degree supporting a manufacturer's sales activities preferably in the nuclear power generation industry - industrial sales management experience a plus
  • Computer Skills - Proficient with MS office products and technical sizing programs for flow control elements and actuation
  • Technical skills – Ability to read manufacturing drawings, P&ID’s and understand nuclear power plant systems & process applications, familiar with Nuclear Quality programs and CFR 21 Reporting requirements

Performance results for this position are measured on revenue, margin, proposal success/conversion to order rate, proposal on time delivery, and proposal quality.

The incumbent will be involved in ‘hands on' project management and change management. Must lead the HS&E community in the development of strategies and polices in the area of HS&E. KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Manage and oversee environmental site assessments with environmental engineering consultants (Phases I, II).
  2. As required, negotiate all enforcement actions, notices of violation, informal settlement agreements, administrative orders and permit agreements.
  3. Identify, develop and submit all required reports to local, state and federal governmental environmental agencies.
  4. Develop protocols and supporting policies and procedures for all safety, health and environmental programs and systems.
  5. Advise senior management on the compliance status, costs and technical improvements needed to achieve compliance.
  6. Assess the impact of safety, health and environmental laws and regulations as they affect the company and its operations; as well as, track new regulations as they develop. Formulate and implement policies, procedures and programs for compliance.
  7. Represent the company on all contested OSHA enforcement actions, citations, informal conferences and settlement agreements.
  8. Manage the activities of outside and in-house legal counsel representing the company to ensure adequate legal advice is provided to the company regarding safety, health and environmental matters.
  9. Establish best practices and cultivate a culture where the multiple sites’ personnel recognize, report and take appropriate actions for violations of company guidelines and work practices.
  10. Maintain ISO 14000 Environmental Management Systems.
  11. Lead role in responding to workplace incidents and accidents. Must develop detailed reporting systems, courses of action in response to incidents and accidents, and notification to local, state and federal agencies. In addition report accidents through parent company (IMI) system on a monthly basis.
  12. Identify need for employee training around safety, emergency response and health consistent with OSHA regulatory requirements. Develops training requirements and responsible for delivery of training and measurement of effectiveness.
  13. Take the lead on EH&S matters concerning the business initiative termed Responsible Business for US sites.
  14. Participate in Global HR Leadership meetings as required.
EXPERTISE REQUIRED:
  1. Highly skilled at identifying and developing good working relationships with state and local authorities (state/local environmental and safety agencies, wastewater authorities, fire departments, etc.) as well as appropriate internal Environmental, Health and Safety contacts.
  2. Background in large, complex, global organizations with success driven by leading-edge technology in Environmental, Health & Safety issues.
  3. Incumbent must be able to effectively communicate with employees at all levels and influence desired change.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
  1. 10+ years of manufacturing experience years related experience in environmental, health & safety management. (Experience working in a manufacturing environment is preferred)
  2. Sound knowledge of OSHA regulations and requirements; environmental policies and significant environmental impact of job activities in accordance with the ISO 14001 standard.
  3. Related Undergraduate Degree (Environmental, safety, industrial hygiene, industrial risk management, safety management or manufacturing engineering is preferred).
  4. Strong experience working in manufacturing in six sigma / lean / continuous improvement environments is preferred.
  5. CIH & CSP certifications required.

Ability to read and interpret manual and electronic work orders, assembly and detail drawings, quality plans, special instructions, inspection, process, material and welding specifications, standard procedure instructions, bill of material and welding specifications, purchase orders, shipping papers and other miscellaneous procedures and documents as required. Uses shop mathematics. Uses necessary tooling, gauge, fixture or other inspections tools/ equipments and makes set-ups, for inspecting raw materials, parts and assemblies for conformance to drawing specifications or other required documents. Performs first piece inspection, layout inspection, 100% inspection, final piece inspection, subassembly (including piping / pipe assemblies, subouts, burning operations, tack welds, finish welds, etc.).

Entry level Inspector - Machine Shop - Performs functions on raw materials, parts and assemblies to assure that materials is within prescribed specifications. Must be able to read blueprints, assembly drawings and understand how to use and read tooling gauges and other inspection tools/equipment for the inspection of materials and parts. Manufacturing experience inspecting subassemblies, raw materials and parts required for consideration, inspection certifications preferred but not required.

Both opportunities require the ability to operate cranes, forklifts trucks and other material handling equipment as required. Must be able to stand for long periods, work in awkward positions and carry 50 pounds, 50 feet.
